Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gossip-telepathy
Lots of users installs gossip-telepathy because they wanna google talk compatible voice talk through Jabber/XMPP. But unfortunately Ubuntu's gossip-telepathy package doesn't have VOIP support :( So, please enable voip (audio/video talk) support in gossip-telepathy - use gossip-telepathy-voip branch (http://www.gnome.org/~rslinckx/darcs/gossip-telepathy-voip ), which soon will be merged to main: 1) Voip/Video is handled by jingle, meaning jabber-to-jabber (using jingle enabled clients) and gtalk/jabber or gtalk only works. Of course as more backends support the telepathy media streaming spec, gossip will have more and more support for the various protocols 2) We were hoping to merge this this weekend at fosdem, maybe it won't be done, but it should happen soon.
