Public bug reported:

Testing on Ubuntu Herd 5.

Still getting the following message when initially booting to the Ubuntu
Feisty Herd 5 DESKTOP (live) CD. I have already reported this problem
several times when testing on the previous Herd CDs.

BusyBox V1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3 - 3ubuntu2) built-in shell (ash)

Enter 'help' for a listing of built-in commands

/bin/sh:can't access tty; job control turned off
(initramfs)

What I have to do to get around this is to choose the boot in safe video
mode option.

And even after choosing the safe video mode parameter and after I have
installed to my hard drive, I get strange distorted reflections of the
Ubuntu logo just before the computer gets to the login screen during
boot.

Please note that I do NOT get this message when using the Dapper 6.06.1
Desktop (live) CD on this very same computer. And I did NOT have to
choose the safe video mode option.

What this seems to indicate to me is that somehow support for my video
card (ATI Radeon 7000 by Power Color) and/or my monitor Samsung
SyncMaster 15GL has been dropped from this newer version of Ubuntu (this
seems like going backwards to me).

Thanks.
