I need a MTU of 1500 for an vpn-connction, so I changed the automatic MTU at eth0 to 1500. This works fine for me, but sometimes (I haven't found a reproducible situation) the MTU changes by its own to 1480. This connection is the only one at this network-device. + NetworkManger sets the MTU by automatic-configuration to 1480. This works fine for me, but sometimes (I haven't found a reproducible situation) the MTU changes by its own to 1480. This connection is the only one at this network-device. After a manual reconnect the MTU is back at 1500. Ubuntu 9.10 Network Manager 0.8 + + Edit: The Network is very "sesible". A not very good wavelan-bridge + leads sometimes to a cut-of of the connection, but this is, in my + opinion, no reason for an different MTU.
