One thing that stands out is the garbled entries in the log. I had it before - very consistently since the upgrade to 9.10! There might be other reasons for these "nice" messages. I think it is just symptoms, not the culprit. I am on my custom kernel now,against which I compiled madwifi, which used to be more friendly to me in the past. I do realize that this issue might not be directly related this bug. What is wlan0 interface in this case? I am sure it was at the time when ath5k was in use not ath_pci
