I have Exit Status 16 (Modem hangs up) in both Kubuntu Herd 4 and Ubuntu Herd 4
and 5, AMD64bit.
Ubuntu 6.10 AMD64 does not have this problem on identical hardware with
identical PPP config.
Modem is USR external on serial port 1.
I've tried changing various settings in AMD64 herd 4 and 5 to no avail.
Random disconnects, usually happen quickly (though have stayed connected
once for an hour) and often disconnects when traffic starts getting
passed. Modem does dial and connect to ISP, just won't stay connected.
