Update:
Wake up from hibernation. Terminal was still running and when I closed it, 
nm-applet was also gone again.
Reopen terminal:
$ nohup nm-applet &
[1] 17948
$ nohup: ignoriere Eingabe und hänge Ausgabe an „nohup.out“ an (ignore input 
and append output in "nohup.out")
killall nm-applet && nm-applet &
[2] 18033
u...@host:~$
Closing the terminal results again in vanish of nm-applet.
