Public bug reported:

Epson Artisan 810 works great as a printer and is automatically detected
by SANE, but when either a preview or full scan is started using either
the auto-document feeder or flatbed mode the scan head moves into
position to begin the scan, with the light on, and then locks up. The
lights on the front panel blink and the printer stops responding to any
function until power cycled. When rebooted it has to recalibrate/resync
the scan head as it was left in an unparked state.

Scan function via front panel display (which saves the scanned image to
a USB memory stick or memory card at low res JPEG) works, so I'm fairly
certain this isn't a hardware issue.

Printer is being used in network mode (via wifi) on a static IP. SANE
detects it properly on it's IP which is shown at the top of the xsane
windows.
