Thanks for your bug report.
I didn't manage to reproduce your issue (just installed gtk-recordmydesktop,
and it runs fine).
Could you paste here the result of this command:
ls -l /var/lib/python-support/python2.5/recordMyDesktop
?
If this directory is empty, please run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure gtk-
recordmydesktop" and retry to launch the program.
If it still doesn't work, could you open a terminal, run this command:
/usr/bin/python -vv /usr/bin/gtk-recordMyDesktop &> recordmydesktop.log
and attach here the file recordmydesktop.log ?
