I believe you will find that there are also problems with "parted" and/or "libparted" in Lucid.
During iso testing I encountered a problem and a combination of Xorg and hardware problems kept me from following through on my testing. But even on my installed Lucid I was having trouble with Gparted resizing, deleting, etc. Unfortunately I will not be able to follow up on this for several days. (Shopping and awaiting new hardware) Please have someone do some basic testing with parted/Gparted both from the Live CD and their installed Lucid.
