I'm running ubuntu karmic koala 9.10 AMD64

I have an AMD PhenomII BE955, the chipset is an AMD 790FX with a SB750
southbridge. 6GB RAM.
Today I have installed ethape via sudo apt-get install etherape
After this I run etherape as root and after enter the password the
system completely freezes and caps lock and scroll lock is blinking. I
have to powerdown the system.
If I only hardreset the system instead of poweroff the mouse (usb) does
not work anymore, LED is off (!) (perhaps a different bug, maybe
helpful).
