I removed pulse audio again with command: sudo apt-get purge gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio vlc-plugin-pulse pulseaudio After this and a reboot sound recorder still not givng an error message like before: "Could not capture using the 'Voice, Lossless' wav profile. Please verify its settings. You may be missing the plug-ins. but the microphone is not working as in Bug #405945. It is probably not relevant what I reported here then. It must of been caused by removing to much previously when I removed pulse or when I removed gnome-media. Before when I reinstalled gnome-media the error still appeared though, but disappeared when I reinstalled pulse.
