The HTTP open dialog is confusing. The port needs to be entered in the
address field, which really is the full URL. This is unfortunate legacy
from the raw UDP and RTP cases.
I would strongly recommend using Media / Paste URL to open URLs in VLC
0.9 and 1.0. In VLC 1.1, the network open tab is anyway replaced with a
single URL field (as do most other software).
