Jean-Francois, I think your changes to the bug I reported are wrong. The problem I reported is the same Totem fixed years ago with the easy codec installation. I think the same thing should be done in pitivi. In fact if you try to play the mpeg file, at first, with totem and not to import the file with pitivi, you will prompt for the easy codec installation. When this procedure finishes and then you import the file with pitivi you will not encounter any errors. So the issue is fixed launching totem at first.
