I also installed the above packages. The test print still has problems, it is 14mm higher than it used to be, but the first horizontal line still starts 14mm lower than the top of the page, and all horizontal lines are cut off on the bottom of the page.
However, I tried a test print from Evince of a PDF. It looks perfect I tried a test print from OO with .1" margins and text in all 4 corners of the page. It also looks perfect. I tried a test print of an 8.5" x 11" page from The Gimp with borderless mode turned on. It cut a tiny bit off of each side, but I don't think this printer can do borderless prints on a full sheet of paper, so I expected that. So, in my book, it's fixed!
