Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-media
Similar to #209374 gnome-sound-recorder voice encoder should be mono. I
wanted to create a wav (PCM) file for use with the wav_sink in gnuradio
grc. the recorder .wav (voice) file is in stereo with 32 bits per
sample. Setting the recorder settings to line_in and stereo duplex did
not change the mono to stereo nor sample size. grc complained that the
recorder file was not a valid wave file. 32 bits seems excessive for
voice but just right for 2 channels of stereo. I tried the recorder
because the file from the grc wave_source connected to the wav_sink did
not represent the input signal. I have learned a lot from the process
of trying to find the right place to raise this non critical issue. The
good news is that both input and output work with my sound card.
Perhaps there is a setting I have missed to set the recorder to record a
stereo signal in .wav format.
Thanks
Randy
