Public bug reported:
Suspend worked fine in jaunty, but after upgrade to karmic attempting to
suspend results in a blank screen with a blinking cursor in the upper
left. The only option at this point is to forcefully stop the laptop by
holding down the power button. There are no errors in the pm-suspend
log file, nor any indication of an oops. Booting into the previous
kernel (2.6.28-17-generic) will allow suspend and resume to succeed, but
sound and the trackpad do not work with the older kernel.
