HI Mark

Thanks for your reply. I connect to the internet by either clicking on the
Firefox or Thunderbird buttons, and connection is via ethernet cable to a BT
Voyager 2091 ADSL Router. The problem has only manifested itself over the
past week or so and up until then there has been no problems since
installation some months ago. Both OSs have coexisted without problems so
far.

As I installed SuSE after Ubuntu the bootloader Grub is its version. I
tried to take a look at the bootloader manager settings in Edgy following
instructions seen in the Help section, but the Ubuntu "Applications" does
not appear to include "Systems Tools" as suggested in the Bootloader
Administration Manual, nor can I find in filed anywhere else.

Sorry if I haven't supplied sufficient information but I'm quite new to
Linux. The problem I have outlined is no great barrier to my continuing to
use Ubuntu which is my preferred system; I only reported it as a bug in
order to help further developments should it be a software problem.

PC spec: AMD ATHLON XP2100+ (266MHZ) 512MB DDR MEMORY 120GB UDMA-133,
5400RPM HDD WITH 2MB BUFFER.

Regards

Roland Burdess
