Referring to comment 290, the original <video> code for Firefox was actually Ogg support via the low level Ogg libraries. GStreamer support was implemented later (by me - I'm the original author of the GStreamer Firefox patch). We then moved back using other, higher level Ogg libraries (liboggplay, etc).
The original GStreamer patched played fine on desktop and the N810 but has suffered a lot of bitrot - and was incomplete in regards to HTML 5 spec changes and various pieces of integration with Firefox (using Firefox's network stack, etc). The current version of the patch is being actively worked on by the new patch author and I'm sure he'll have it up to speed in due course. -- Firefox is not able to play mp4 <video> tags https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/412647 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
