Referring to comment 290, the original <video> code for Firefox was
actually Ogg support via the low level Ogg libraries. GStreamer support
was implemented later (by me - I'm the original author of the GStreamer
Firefox patch). We then moved back using other, higher level Ogg
libraries (liboggplay, etc).

The original GStreamer patched played fine on desktop and the N810 but
has suffered a lot of bitrot - and was incomplete in regards to HTML 5
spec changes and various pieces of integration with Firefox (using
Firefox's network stack, etc). The current version of the patch is being
actively worked on by the new patch author and I'm sure he'll have it up
to speed in due course.
