most of the things reported can be done only modifying gfxboot source
code, AFAIK there's no "make" option to select the default keyboard
layout neither to associate some languages (german) to some other
keyboard layout (swiss).
so for me this bug is a "won't fix" cause we're not going to generate
gfxboot patches to allow some customizations.
you could do something instead (using uck >= 2.0.11):
- download gfxboot-theme-ubuntu source
- extract it in ~/tmp/gfxboot-theme-ubuntu
- customize it
- use uck
this way gfxboot-theme-ubuntu won't be downloaded but uck will use your
own copy.
