I understand your pain, but unfortunately all signs point to an
incompatibility with your driver and 9.10.  This could be a kernel issue
( i.e. the driver doesn't work properly with 2.6.31 ), or a problem with
the driver and the NM 0.8 stack.

As this driver isn't included in the kernel, your best bet is to try and
work with Linksys and/or RaLink, or find another Wi-Fi card which uses a
supported driver.
