Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

Hi, I had an Ubuntu 8.10 installed on my system (on hd0,1), then I installed an
Ubuntu Studio 9.04 on another partition (hd0,2) (there's a win partition on
(hd0,0))
Since then grub started from the new partition.
When I did the distribution update on (hd0,1) from 8.10 to 9.10 the update
process modified the old menu.lst in (hd0,1), and not the active one in
(hd0,2). I expected update-manager to discover the right place where to add
lines to the boot menu.
So I had the (hd0,1) system upgraded to 9.10 but running the old kernel, and
this prevented audio drivers to load.

I solved setting grub root again to (hd0,1), now i have to add lines to
start ubuntu studio (of course I could add lines to the hd0,2
configuration)

Both systems are 64bit version.

update-manager:
  Installato: 1:0.126.9
  Candidato: 1:0.126.9
  Tabella versione:
 *** 1:0.126.9 0

     1:0.126.6 0

Hope this helps, thank you very much for your work!
