I managed to re-connect following the steps: 1. Having the wireless led on, turned-off wireless/bt using the hardware switch 2. The network manager detects the change and shows the wireless checkmark as enabled. Trying to connect to the router, NM is asking for security key, but still not connecting 3. Re-enable wireless/bt using the hardware switch. At this point NM is able to establish connection..
I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic amd64 on a Dell Latitude D830 w/ wifi card Broadcom 4328 (I can provide the whole description if needed). I have no idea why it behaves like this, but at least it works for now. Hope it helps..
