This doesn't seem to be (just_ a problem with the network-manager. My initial report wasn't correct, the problem occurred only when hibernating (using Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04). My computer will not wake up properly after a suspend - I get a black screen and my only recourse is to reboot. In Ubuntu 9.10, the suspend problem is the same but now I cannot even hibernate.
But there is a whole list of problems for my computer under 9.10. Ubuntu 9.10 would not install properly, presumably due to ATI video problems. Uninstalling/reinstalling xorg drivers helped. There are problems with "Clocksource tsc unstable" (got around that by adding "clocksource=acpi_pm" as startup parameter). And even then this computer won't always boot properly and tends to nang or lose it's wireless connection. But the main point is that losing your wireless connection after hibernate seems to be a kernel issue. I've also made a bug report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/399831 -- network manager can't reconnect to wireless network after suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/368814 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
