Hi, Weathergod: I ran the commands you suggested and the system sent a report via Launchpad.
Here is some additional information. The popping noises occur almost as an "after effect" of the sound generation. When the sound track is silent the popping sound goes away completely. The loudness of the popping is directly relational to the intensity of the sound. I hope this helps? This might be a Parallels problem? Perhaps the Parallels team can help you, or vice versa. By the way, the problem does not occur in Snow Leopard or, when running WinVista in Parallels 5. Thanks for you help.
