I also have this problem, with a 701 eeepc, with a 16GB Class 6 SD card
set as /home. I'm currently running Xubuntu 9.10 (Karmic), and have the
sd card formatted as ext2. The problem seems to have increased after
the distribution upgrade (happened about 10% of restarts on 9.04, now
100% of the time). fsck has not yet detected errors on the drive.

I have noticed strange error messages that seem related when shutting
down, though I have not been able to read them in time. I will search
for relevant log files and update the post with them once found.
Thanks!
