I have forwarded your bug report upstream to the intel developers: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26229 . Please get a user account at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/ and add yourself to the CC- field of that report, so that you can answer any questions the upstream developers might have. One that they might have is whether you still get a freeze if you disable kwin compositing. You may answer that upstream before they ask if you want (but I understand that disabling it when it freezes before you're logged in can be challenging, using the vesa driver or tweaking some configuration file may be a possibility).
The debugfs error message should be harmless. Actually, I hadn't notice that mount command first in the batchbuffer dump recipe before. It can probably be removed, but I don't know if some systems don't have it mounted by default. I don't know if the standard Lucid batchbuffer dump would be useful. But probably wouldn't hurt if you upload it to the upstream bug report. Note: the "nosetmode" kernel option that you are using is ignored. You probably meant to use the option "nomodeset" at some point, but for this bug report, it is good that you didn't use it. -- [i845G] X11 locks up when enabling kwin compositing on 845G https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/510830 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
