Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pm-utils

After a day's work, I tell my machine to suspend. The screen goes dark
(with a white cursor in upper left) and then, after a few seconds (15 or
so) the screensaver password prompt comes up. If I enter my password,
and then immediately tell it to suspend again, it works... screen goes
dark (no cursor), and the machine goes to sleep. My /var/log/pm-
suspend.log doesn't look different between passes, but I can attach it
if someone thinks it'd help.

I have no such problem with shutdown, and resume (from suspend) seems to
work fine every time -- except that my mouse no longer wakes it up (if
anyone knows that solution, I'm all ears!)

1) This is on Ubuntu 9.10 - Karmic
2) pm-utils is at 1.2.5-2ubuntu7
3) I expect that every time I tell the computer to suspend, it will.
4) Instead, I have to tell it to suspend, enter my password, and then tell it
to suspend again.
