The bug appears in my Ubuntu 9.10 thin client.
What I was trying to do

I was trying to copy and paste text from a text area in a web page,
using the shift and arrow keys to higlight text.
What happened
----------------------
After I tried to highlight the text using the keyboard, the keyboard
input stopped working, also the drop down menus couldn't be selected
using the mouse.
Reproducing the error
------------------------------
You must first log into the Ubuntu thin client and then without opening
any applications press alt+f2 to bring up the "Run Application" dialog
box. Type in a few characters (it doesn't matter what) then hold down
the left shift key and press either the left or right arrow key.
The bug should now be observed, just try typing some more text and you
will notice that you can't.
This is the easiest way to reproduce the bug and as far as I know it
affects all applications which accept keyboard input, including pidgin,
gajim, and firefox.
