The attached syslog excerpt covers a use case where I insert the USB modem, network-manager automatically connects to my provider, I manually disconnect from my provider, and finally I attempt to reconnect a few times (without success). The last two steps are done via the menu in network-manager. The modem remains physically connected all the time.
