Yes. It is an issue yet. Before the script started with the belnet sf.net mirror (that has been dead for five years if memory serves). Now it starts with sufnet and then follows with optusnet both dead...
The problem is that the download routine is built with the premises that sf.net mirrors don't come and go, and that a simple linear search will do. It is fortunate that this version of msttcorefonts walks the list until it finds a working server and downloads the files from it. Previous versions would hit all the non-working servers *every single time* it would download a file.
