Roger, Sorry you are having problems with Ubuntu One. Your logs make me think you are effected by bug 488413 . A fix has been released for this, enabling the proposed karmic-updates should get you this newer version.
System > Administration > Software Sources and select 'Updates' tab. The click the box next to Pre-released updates (karmic-proposed). Close the window, if prompted hit reload. Then open a Terminal (Applications > Accesories > Terminal) and run the following command. sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install ubuntuone-client When done you may want to go back into Software Sources and untick the proposed updates.
