Thank you for taking the time to file this bug report. Based on your
Ubuntu One client settings, I think you have the applet set to only show
when there is activity. You can always show the applet by doing the
following (with Ubuntu One already running):
1. Open Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One
2. In the Ubuntu One preferences, set "Show icon:" to "Always"
3. Quit the Ubuntu One client by opening a terminal session and running:
killall ubuntuone-syncdaemon ubuntuone-client-applet
4. Open Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One
You should now always see the Ubuntu One client applet in your taskbar.
