Chris-
Are you sure about this filename: "/etc/init/eucalyptus-cc-publication-
ip.conf", as I can't find that anywhere.
I'm having trouble finding where and how the mDNS hostname is being
withdrawn.
When you experience this problem, is avahi-daemon still running? I
would think that as long as avahi-daemon is running, you should have
access to your mDNS.
When you experience this problem, what is the output of "ps -ef | grep
avahi"? For me, it's:
$ ps -ef | grep avahi
avahi 1060 1 0 Jan28 ? 00:00:00 avahi-daemon: running
[x200.local]
avahi 1061 1060 0 Jan28 ? 00:00:00 avahi-daemon: chroot helper
