Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
My system crashed and, after I rebooted, I started Rhythmbox and was met
with an empty library. Then the "Watch my library" function kicked in
and started populating but I still lost all my ratings.
I have a feeling it might be a problem with how libxml2 handles open xml
files.
My workaround is a cron job that backs up my rhythmdb.xml nightly.
