Binary package hint: ffmpeg
Since we won't get a new ffmpeg-version for lucid (according to a
wishlist bug) could we please get these features backported to ffmpeg so
they can be used in VLC?
quoting from the ffmpeg changelog:
- Bluray (PGS) subtitle decoder
- LPCM support in MPEG-TS (HDMV RID as found on Blu-ray disks)
I've recently started buying Blu-Rays (yes, I know ripping them to being
able to watch them is still pretty ugly but it can be done) and I'd love
to see support for these functions in lucid. Building my own ffmpeg
could get potentially messy and interfere with apps depending on the
shipped version of it so I'd prefer to see these features in lucid's
ffmpeg.
