Absolutely the same problem as the OP. My external I-O data firewire drive (120GB) isn't working with 6.06 but worked previously. I get the same messages on boot as the OP, and additionally Ubuntu now takes about 30-40 seconds longer to boot because of all the firewire related errors. I'm not sure if I need some advice, or if this needs fixing, but if someone could look into it, I think it would be a good thing.
