As for playback stopping in the middle of a track, it happens when playing by VLC (1.0.2-1ubuntu1~ppa1), but not by the alsaplayer, for instance. VLC gives this error message in terminal, as it stops playing in the middle of a track: "[0x8f83840] main input error: Invalid PCR value in ES_OUT_SET_(GROUP_)PCR !". "flac --test" gives ok for the files, but still re-encoding the files by flac removes the problems with the aforementioned players.
