I am aware of the whole problem with the patents and it is a known issue
for years that has included also mplayer etc etc.

But, as I see it, the question is this:
if these libraries cannot be freely distributed they should not be in main.
If they can be there is no problem to include them as dependencies and ship 
them in the live cd.

I insist that either way, we have a bug here and IMHO if the first is
the case is much more serious than if it the second one.


It is a matter of what gets defined as "freely distributed" for ubuntu and main 
should reflect this.
