Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: synaptic
Hi All :)
I'd like Synaptic to have package collection capabilities.
You select some packages and Synaptic outputs a .col file.
And if You wish You can make Synaptic assemble all of the
.col files to a working Ubuntu on a chosen filesystem or remove,
install or really purge packages.
Another problem is that Synaptic won't let me break dependencies
nor does it have the capabilities to visualize the dependencies.
(Something like R&D tree in newer versions of civ seems to be a close call.)
Synaptic should also watch what kind of files the programs make and log them
for the possibility of removal (Install'n'App Watch) so the system won't get
cluttered
by config files and other trash.
Best wishes
Jan Girke
