Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
Tech details:
Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala
Open Office 1:3:1:1-5ubuntu1
I run into two differences between the current versions above and the
version (3.0) that came with U-JJ 9.04.
1) When filling in forms in 3.0, one could erase single words in the
fill-in pane with the ctrl+bksp keys. In 3.1, ctrl+bksp erases all of
the text in the pane. Annoying. Functionality of 3.0 should be
reinserted.
2) When performing a mail merge where the fields point to data in a
calc worksheet, 3.1 chokes. It ignores some fields while recognizing
others. I spent nearly three hours trying to get it to include all
information from all fields inserted in a writer document. I finally
gave up and used OO 3.1 for winblowsxp which had no problem filling in
all info in all the fields inserted in the document. I had no problem
with the prior U-9.04/OO 3.0 combo before the upgrade. This really
needs to be looked at.
Thanks.
