I have similar problem, i marked just /dev/sda and /dev/sdb (i have 2 disks) and installation no error returned, but after reboot i can boot windows but can't boot to linux. When I choose linux and hit enter everything hang, I can't do anything just restart my computer. I have reinstalled grub2 using live cd and instruction from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2. After reboot grub indicates 1.97 beta1 version but I can now boot to windows.
