Could you please check that you don't have a file in /etc/xdg/lubuntu/lxdm ?
Also, could you test to load the greeter inside a X session to see if the theme
is working ? Error displayed in the terminal could be usefull too. You should
have this theme : http://blog.lxde.org/?p=595
