Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

Same experience as when updating to img-2.6.31-17-generic. From the
logging I noticed an error in /etc/default/grub.

I changed one line manually from:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="

to

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""

and then ran update-grub as stated in /etc/default/grub

Now I will reboot and see if I am using the new kernel. Unfortunately I am not
sure whether all the steps normally done by the automated update proces have
been done properly. If someone could confirm this to me I would be grateful.
