Ok, just to update on this bug, I managed to get ustream to work in a Kubuntu Karmic 64bit box so here it goes. Found these instructions in the webcamstudio webpage (http://www.ws4gl.org/):
Go to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager06.html Set ustream and everything else you want to "always allow". It's an ugly workaround, there are privacy issues with it, but at least it gets ustream to work.
