Fisrt, I have to say I'm not friendly with English and it is the first time I'm
reporting here.
The "bug" occured during today Linux Header update (Ubuntu 8.10, kernel
2.6.27-17-generic).
Since I added an option in the GRUB (to avoid splash and associated PC speaker
unexpected continuous alarm - as suggested in another bug), a dedicated window
ask me which version of "menu.lst" I want to install.
Each time, I choose the one proposed in the automatic update, and then I
modified it... This time I tried to do something directly, by use of "Open
shell".
I did'nt see that the prompt appears in the log window (current window became
gray), so I opened another terminal to check files.
At the end, I did'nt know how continue, so I entered 'exit' at prompt... and
the process continue with a lot of error messages...
And no direct possibilities to perform again this update.
I will restart system, and may be it will the end!! 8-)
