This is, in fact, a bug in Gwibber. My custom text input widget attempts
to use the user's native theme colors, but fails because the operation
to get the color is performed before the widget is realized. I have
committed a fix for this issue in trunk. It should work now regardless
of what theme the user is running. Thanks!
