I have been experiencing this bug with the exact same webcam for several months now. The camera is detected and shows up when I do an lsusb, but the video device /dev/video0 fails to open. I did some research on google, and this post seems to have a solution. http://www.quickcamteam.net/documentation/faq/logitech-webcam-linux-usb-incompatibilities Apparently there is a patch to fix this that is not officially maintained. If someone could at least walk through how to apply it, that would be great.
