I too am seeing this issue on 9.10, 64-bit.

What program are you requesting the backtrace for?  AFAIK, no application is 
actually crashing.  It's just that many of the items on the gnome-panel are 
missing and the panel itself is unresponsive.  Killing the panel and restarting 
it does not return the missing icons.  However, logging out and back in does, 
but this defeats the purpose of suspending.
