The passwords don't have any special characters in them. This is
actually worse than the older bug (#14122) since gksu doesn't recognize
regular character passwords. The older gksu didn't have this problem it
seems to have been introduced but the newer gksu. I can't access
synaptic, update-manager and other gui applications that has to be run
as root unless sudo is used. I have experience this problem every now
and then while using feisty and not Dapper. A simple solution usually
solves this problem which is deleting the .cache in the home directory
but now it doesn't work. After the older gksu has been replaced by the
newer one its now a recurring problem with no apparent solution. Before
this happened I did have a strange problem where I can't run mousepad as
a regular user, I have to be root else it crashes. But until now and
with the gksu issue the problems still remain. They might be related.

gksu doesn't accept/rejects password, no choice but use sudo instead on feisty
