Linux version 2.6.31-14-generic (bui...@rothera) (gcc version 4.4.1 (Ubuntu
4.4.1-4ubuntu8) ) #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:04:26 UTC 2009 (Ubuntu
2.6.31-14.48-generic)

** Description changed:

- I have no sound output before and after upgrading from Xubuntu 9.04 to
- 9.10. In 9.04 my hardware volume knob (not a real dial type, but more
- of a spring loaded switch) didn't do anything. In 9.10 it affects the
- volume level which I can't hear. In 9.04 I could just barely hear the
- volume through the headphones. In 9.04, I did a fresh install on a
- brand new HDD. It's likely that while running XP, the volume was muted
- when I removed the HDD. I ran my Toshiba Recovery Disc before
- installing a dual-boot of 9.10 and made sure the volume was set at max.
